Dreams of a blood red sky and a carriage by the lake,
Water lapping at my feet changes to become a entangling web
You laugh as I squirm and the carriage starts to melt away
Next scene, pull away the curtain as it burns
A young girl sits alone in a tower, just like all the fairy tales before her
But theres no dragon to keep her there, just a reflection in her mirror
And all the pretty promises you fed her before you left
Brush your hair my sweet and look away
Dont worry about the past my dear, forget about today
Just remember Im returning from my journey sometime soon
And think of all the kisses that will make you sway and swoon
The stage goes black but without a shield of red cloth
I watch as props just fade away
Now the old woman sits, still staring at that mirror
The past life she cant ever grasp again
And she cant go back and ask you not to go
the glory, the gold
They just dont matter anymore
Then she touches the mirror and her bones collapse in a heap of dust
I am left alone without even the actress to occupy my thoughts
Until a cabaret of the saints appears and whisks my mind away
It all disappears and I materialize back in my room alone
The only difference is there is no door
boxed in
Trapped forever
At least I have my mirror to accompany me
The world around is forgotten
you never came back
